  • Beer in swing top bottles?

Looking for swing top bottles - not wine bottle size, beer bottle size. Looking at buying new ones, then doh just thought what about ones like Grolsch with beer in!

So has anyone seen any supermarkets selling beer in swing top bottles - don't mind paying a bit more for a bottle if its got good contents! Lol!

only grolsch, they were on offer last year at £1 per bottle i think, i bought a load for my homebrewing, i did have to drink the contents first though, although grolsch is far from my favourite ( i filled them back up with an old london porter) i cant pour booze down the sink!

I prefer the sound of your old london porter! I'll keep an eye out for offers...

Tesco and Asda both sell em. According to mysupermarket, Asda are doing em 3 for £5 which at £1.76 a bottle isn't much of a saving. But you do get a nice bottle with it. If you don't mind it saying Grolsch on the side of course.

Sounds good. Label over name maybe

Nah, it's a raised logo, bumpy like. I doubt the label would stick with it being uneven. Still better than paying full whack for empty bottles.

We used to have several of these bottles. I used them for ginger-beer, then it didn't get used, and when we opened one, the top flew! (the wire twanged out of place). I think we still have some, full of potentially explosive ginger-beer......
