  • BBC Series: The Story Of Agriculture on iPlayer

Hi, i couldn't find a post that mentioned this, so i thought i would. It's my first post so I hope it's in the right place!

I thought people might find it interesting to watch the BBC programme "Mud, Sweat and Tractors: The Story Of Agriculture."

I watched it and really enjoyed it so i thought others who hadn't seen it might do too! It's available on BBC iPlayer until 11pm on Tuesday 14th Aug.

    Here is the link!

    Thanks!

The Hunger Shame on ITV tonight is also worth a look. A massive difference between people who use food banks to eat and industrial glass houses which cost millions of pounds to produce tomatoes. According to this programme many people are now growing their own vegetables and the scheme Incredible Edible was very interesting.

Ta for that, I forgot I was watching iPlayer and couldn't drag myself away ! The one lesson I took away was, without high technology, boy are we in trouble...
Now, I must see how the ITV iPlayer thingie works...
There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

The Incredible Edible scheme seems great! The idea of growing food in public green spaces is very simple when you think about it.

There's a nice little article and video about it in the Observer here:

OH and I watched this the first time around - all 4 programmes. I was brought up in rural Herefordshire so a lot of this was very familiar but I still enjoyed it hugely. My partner is a "Stokie" born and bred and he found it absolutely fascinating. I can't recommend these programmes enough - thanks for reminding me.
