  • Back at last .............

Back home in France at last, daughter in law all buried and tucked up nicely, daughter sorted and nice and comfortable in her flat again.

Arrived home on Thursday night to find our dear old cat, aged 21, very poorly so made an appointment for the vet yesterday and sad to say the lovely old chap didn't come home with us. We only had him three years but he was an absolute joy and bizarrely enough, he was the very first pet I'd ever had of my own ever.

So, actually got out in the garden this morning, tidied up the terrace outside the house, J and I had a walk round the garden and the near woods, lots of things growing and coming through, over-wintered veggies looking good, lots happening in the next few months and NONE of it is negative now.

Had a crappy six months but now it's onwards and upwards!!! Assuming my visit to the specialist on Monday goes ok of course!!!

Tony, it must only get better from now on. Shame about the cat but what an age?!!

      All the best for Monday.

Sorry to hear that you lost your cat but, as so many have said - what a great age and so handsome. I'm sure he had a wonderful life with you and J.
As you said, onwards and upwards into spring and the lovely (if somewhat hectic) growing season.
Hope everything goes OK on Monday, we will be thinking of you.

Come on- cheer us up a bit....how warm is it with you? we had 8C today- you're ususally a fair bit warmer than us once the deep deep winter is over.

That was one great cat, Tony - bet you were glad you had him while you did. And you know what cats are like - if there is a cat-shaped space in your life, one will find its way in. They just know.
Hope all goes well for you on Monday - chin up - spring's coming any second now (please?)
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Welcome back Tony, glad all is sorted and settled.
Enjoy the spring that you probably already have down there.

That's a fine age for a fine looking cat Tony, sorry for your loss on both counts.

Good to see you back, and in what appears to be good spirits all things considered.

                  Good luck for Monday dude.

Nicos, eat your heart out, 13 degrees this afternoon

We're going to stay here for the forseeable, chill out, organise our gardening group and ground force team again, cut some trees, grow some veggies, prune the new hedge, relax, talk to the neighbours etc etc.

We both feel that we've had a huge weight lifted from our shoulders what with the fatal accident case from September to December and then DiL so now it's back at doing what WE want to do!!!

Fingers crossed for you Tony, hope Monday goes well. After that, as others have said, enjoy some 'me' time, and have a great Veg-growing season. Commiserations regarding the loss of your Cat, take comfort that he had a good long life.
