Well, you'll need to be quick. LadyWayne was born 6 weeks early - as was her Mum I think!!

Erm, nope. Opting for a home birth at the moment (thanks to advice given by a fellow grape), but will need to pack a bag of essentials at some point

Probably not - I'll take plenty of water and some grub.

Part of the selection criteria when we chose it. A) was it high enough, B) could I figure out how to collapse/open it without instructions within 30 seconds to a minute. If not, it was discounted.

I was in the pub last night with some chums from college and one if the guys became a dad a couple of weeks ago and he was telling us all about it...it's so sweet to hear chaps talking about babies.

Oh I'm so excited about you and LW planning a home birth! I'm evangelical about them! I really, really didn't want our little family to separated once the birth was over and Mr R to have to go home etc. and leave us in hospital.

I had a birth pool which was BRILLIANT and the whole thing (I know we were dead lucky) was looong but so amazing because we shared it on our own. The midwife came for the last two hours but other than that we diddled along by ourselves.

Plus you get to snuggle on the sofa with some Champagne, in your own living room, with your little one, within an hour or so of giving birth...

LW finished work on the same day as me, this time last year!

Massive hugs to you both! What a Christmas you're going to have! x

Don't forget a flannel for gently mopping LW's brow from time to time

.....I found it a wonderful thing to clamp me gnashers onto

6 weeks??? ...well then- that means 4-8 ya know????....will be here in the blink of an eye!

We've been buying various bits and bobs for months now. One of the shelves in the wardrobe looks like a supermarket shelf full of nappies of various types/sizes. We're going to try all sorts (including re-usable) and see how we get on.

It's starting to dawn on me that I know chuff all about changing nappies/ bathing/feeding etc etc.

I'll be cramming over the next week or so.

I think Bean is going to have an awful lot of excited 'aunties and uncles'!

Strikes me you'll be a natural at baby care HW
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
