    autumn

    im loving this season, everything changing colour and the crisp cold weather, i think autumn and winter must be my two fav seasons...one problem with it is the colds that are popping up now, both my daughters have been ill, emma has had the sickness bug and kirsty has ear, throat infections with other things too........not happy children at the mo.

    i have lots of things happerning in these 3 months so so busy but good busy....mostly to do with my children,

    i have potatos growing in the garden they seem to be doing really well, and my sprouts and cabbages look good too.......i must say i can not wait to have my own allotment, i have so many plans for it, it will be hard work but as everyone knows on here its worth it.

    i have a taster on what it feels like to grow things yourself and it really feels good, and i know that it does not always work the way you want it, but you have to just keep on going.....im hoping to make a little patch for my children i would like them to get intrested in growing things, but we will see....i shouldnt really plan things yet as i have no allotment yet number 12, hey i just have to be paitant.

    any way i hope everyone is enjoying the start of the autumn weather and everyone is well....

    I am not loving this weather,really cold and no heating til end of next week as it's been disconnected cos of extension. Am potty training son no2, and he has been running around with less and less clothes on as he peed on them lol and he was blue by the time I got him in the bath!

    I need some heat before my chillblains come back again!

      Janeyo - that's ok - peeing on chillblains is an age old remedy.

      I love the colours of the trees, but not the blue my fingernails go when it gets chilly.

          Ask him to direct his flow at the compost heap.

                Unless you have spent a winter in the North of Scotland (or beyond) you haven't experienced 'darkness, damp and cold'. 4 hours daylight (if you are lucky). Of course the other side of it is summer evenings when it doesn't really get dark until it is about to start getting light.....
                Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

                  I love Autumn, the early morning mists coming off the river, the migrating birds that leave us and the new ones coming (especially the geese), the slightly cripsy crunchy underfoot sounds walking across the fields and all the changing colours, the frenetic activities of animals and humans getting in the last edible produce. Mild worries about having chopped enough wood before the rains and hoping for snow. Yep best time of the year, one could almost wax lyrical.

                    It's "muck" spreading time mine arrived yesterday all 5 tones of it.
                    Some i have put straight on the lottie the rest I have put in a heap covered for ron(later on).
                    The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

                      I love autumn, and find myself singing that very tune when I walk the hound through beautiful brown and orange leaves.
                      Yes it gets dark and cold, but tbh, having experienced the "seasons" or in fact lack of, in other places, I just love it.

                          You and my OH both. Plus Derbyshire anytime, but it's only 10 minutes away, and North Yorks moors and Bodmin and Dartmoor in summer...but only because I complain less if he leaves me on a beach.

                          I have to say that autumn is my favourite time of year too and I love winter. Spring means all the new sowing and I get a buzz just planning all that potential. But summer? No, I hate it hot!
                          Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.

                            Proper seasons are what its all about, fresh spring, golden autumns, crispy winters...but wet & miserable most of the year? NO!!!

                            Wouldn't mind a nice hot summer too.
