  • anyone recommend an electricity usage meter.

Hi, looking to save energy and have looked at energy meters, the only problem for me is there are so many to choose from.
Anyone got one? Anyone recommend a certain type/brand.
    Any help, much appreciated.
    Thank you.

If you google 'free energy meter' 'free energy monitor' etc you will come across a number of companies which offer them FREE.

I know if you are a BGas customer you can get one and there are plenty of others doing the same. You need to have your customer number whichever supplier you chose who are doing the freebie.

You can also get those energy saving electric adaptors which switch off after a given interval - I think someone in the family has to be on some kind of benefit - there's a qualifying list. You could apply through a relative if they have no use for such an item.

The monitor will not save energy directly - but just prick your conscience into turning off unneccessary appliances - such as on standby - and some will take a tariff rate and calculate usage in money terms.
