  • Any Suggestions?

A man who works with my son is sending home bags of windfall apples, pears and plums from his orchard for my pigs. The pigs(and I) are extremely gruntfull!
I would like to give this person a little something in return. The trouble is, he has throat cancer and finds swallowing difficult so a cake is out of the question. My first thought is jars of preserves but my son tells me that he has lost all sense of taste and smell due to his illness.
I am at a loss as to what I can make for him that he will appreciate and that will show my appreciation.
    Can anyone make a suggestion?

There aren't many men that don't, Polly.

When I was little we used to collect pears from the old chap next door and return them as stewed pears with cinnamon etc. That's soft for swallowing even if he can't taste it.

If he's on drugs he might not be allowed alcohol?

Doesn't seem the time of year, but could you knit him a scarf?
