I've used this company before when I bought a food dehydrator. Really good quick service and a good product too. I'd recommend them

Thanks for the link, I've ordered a catalogue. Maureen, is a food dehydrator any good? I've fancied one for a while.

I did loads of dried bananas, apples, mushrooms & herbs and they were (still are) great. I also did some french beans they look awful but they're ok when chucked into a stew or casserole. I've lent it to one of my sisters, who's going to pass it on to another sister so it does the rounds in the family. I did mean to do some onions too, but I forgot. It's only good if you're drying something that's cheap and abundant at the time and it does save loads of space. It's something you'd use sporadically during the year that's why we're passing mine round all us sisters.

by the way, the bananas I did were 10p a KILO from Asda a while ago, and the apples were from my own tree plus lots of windfalls. Mushrooms were the "value" ones from the supermarket and they worked really well, concentrating the flavour
