  • Anniversary oops

This is a bit of a saga so bear with me.

It is our 10th wedding anniversary today. I am packing the kids upstairs with pizza, cooking a nice meal, candles the lot.
Last night I realised that I had arranged to go for supper tonight with two girlfriends! Of course I cancelled to much merriment from the girls, they are used to me being scarily ditzy. MrH has had a field day over me double booking, reckons I forgot etc. All the while laughing maniacally and poking me in the ribs. I didnt forget, just got me days a bit muddled...............

Anyhow just looked at the date on the pooter, thats right it's the 19th today

    Anniversary is the 20th!!!!!!

Am I the only person this flaming disorganised?

No, my brain is like a sieve too. I have to programme all appointments into my phone otherwise I will forget them.

Fiona that IS funny. And happy Anniversary anyway!

I was always fine with work stuff (I didn't trust my brain, obviously, but I kept a desk diary, filofax, computer planner and had a full time secretary, so NO excuse!), but personal stuff - hopeless.

I was once responsible for us missing a flight back to the UK from Australia. I just got the day wrong...our flight had gone the day before...

I live in fear of doing something like that! I am fine with work stuff........most of the time, did turn up for a meeting once an hour early but thats not too bad.

Top it all I spent ages driving round our small town trying to get a parking space to get something engraved and got really upset when I couldn't. Only to realise I have another day now to get it sorted

          Nope, me too.

I had a little PDA type thing that I kept all my anniversaries, birthdays, appointments etc etc in, and set it so that it would remind me on a set number of days before the event. The number of days was determined by the importance of the event - my brothers birthday, 1 day before. Our anniversary - 5 weeks before (and again 5 days prior), to allow me to organise (if I hadn't already) gifts and so forth.

Anywoo, some weeks ago my beloved PDA thingy decided it was going to hard reset itself and I lost the lot!

Now, fine if like my new PDA it synchronises with my computer and stores it all for me, but my old PDA was so old that it wasn't compatible with "modern" PC's.

          Happy Anniversary for TOMORROW!

10 years eh? Good job.

Thanks Wayne Just rang MrH and told him. Thankfully he has now lost ALL moral highground with the double booking with the girls thing

Still going to celebrate tonight as I have to go to work tomorrow night, if it doesnt snow. Ten years sounds like an awfully long time, seems like yesterday though.

I think it's unusual for me to get any day right these days - comes with not going to work and having to think!

happy anniversary for tomorrow and this gives you a great reason to celebrate twice!

Ditto Rhona but that's another story lol

Fiona what a cunning plan. If your Anniversary is 20th what a wonderful way to celebrate it in the wee small hours. Retire wined and dined and celebrate the special day. Inspired planning I call it.

                        Bless yer Fi.
We always have a bit of a disagreement as to when ours is...Andi says the 17th and I say the 20th,but it's quite handy as he always remembers and it gives me a couple of days to do whatever before the 20th.
What I hadn't realised until your post.....it's the big 10 for us this year too.

We've been married 36 years this year and between us we've remembered about 10 anniversaries then its usually late in the day when we do. Last year it was 4pm when my niece send us a congrats by text or that would have been another missed one.

                            Happy anniversary for tomorrow Fiona.

Good job we can laff at what is to some is a very important issue. One year on our 'special day' we were on a flight to god knows where when I was presented with an Anniversary Card. Was my face red (I had completely overlooked the significance of the day). I fluffed my way out of it by secretly approaching the stewards. About and hour later there was an announcement made. "The captain wishes to congratulate Mr. Gibbons on this his 40th wedding anniversary and request his pleasure on the flight deck" My OH nearly wet himself but courageously was led to the captains domain.
Wow! that was another near one!
