I once made a lovely cake, untill I went into the front room and found the eggs sitting on the piano, well where else would you keep them.

Lol me and DS are home alone. He's asleep and I usually spend the evening chatting with OH over a glass of wine. Feels weird him being away it's normally me that travels, but you guys have kept me sane today so thank you

lol. My son made a cake without us realising he was doing it when he was 6 ( we were having a BBQ at the time so outside with guests. He managed to make a cake with apples from our tree, eggs. milk, flour and sugar. Quantities weren't quite right but our guests were brave enough to try it and liked it so much they had seconds!

you could have saved the cake. Just make a sugar syrup and soak it through.

or put buttercream icing in it or between it

I was once told that with cooking disasters you have two options;

1: Sweet - cover it in custard
2: Savoury - curry it

My DH (ex Chef) doesn't seem to have disasters, so I guess it works LOL!
