  • Advantages of the snow...

Well, yes, I know it's a pain if you need to go out, but have you found any advantages to being snowed in (as we are here in Kent).

I've been able to defrost the freezer - the few items that were in there have gone into a cold box which was put outside yesterday and is now under 4" of snow

Freezer has defrosted, all clean and shiny for when I can get the goodies back inside.

Oh yes, and I've written most of my C*** cards as I can't get out to work.

What has the snow allowed you to do?

We've ripped up the bathroom floor, sanded, tiled, sealed, grouted, cleaned, resealed and put battens and sealant down. And taken the bathroom door off and sliced 5mm off the bottom to fit the new mosaic tiles under.

However we had taken the week off to do it in; so we weren't going far anyway.

Still to do; final sealant coat, paint door and decide on whizzo tiles to go on the side of the bath and then start the whole process again....

Yes and you can see where the drunks had a pee on the way home.

I love going out in the morning, and looking at the tracks around the garden and Chook run. Its amazing what's out and about at night. Mainly Wabbits!

I've been off for a week with a cold (lost my voice, no use in a classroom) and I've been able to finally cement the gap between my patio and the greenhouse, so I now have a frost-free growing space

We've been eating our way through the freezer contents, because I've not been shopping

And I've done a lot of sewing: a dress, hoody & 3 tee shirts this week

My back has been less painful: I haven't taken any pills at all this week that I've been off sick. I am bored of it though

I am sure my DD would say the advantage is NO SCHOOL!!
Personally it means I cant go to work, therefore I dont get paid and will have less money at Christmas, also I am stuck in with my OH under my feet all day.....I have been biting my lip very well
The only advantage is I took some nice shots first thing this morning.

If only I had read this earlier! A brilliant idea. Maybe tomorow if I'm snowed in again.

The main advantage of the snow for me is it makes my garden look beautiful and well kept - the complete opposite of what it actually looks like under the snow!

Have cut material into panels to make a new cover for the sofa. Praying for the snow to go so I can put it back in the box again!
Made the Christmas cake, filled and painted the hallway and smacked up lumps of tarmac from the drive to make way for new gate posts (although this job was made harder by the snow, very warm afterwards!)

The local cats have stopped using my garden as a toilet, result.

have not had a huge amount of snow so life has carried on pretty much as normal.
Have had the heating on though at a constant low temp so house is comfortably warm rather than warm-cold-warm-cold.
