The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

Yes we have several well atleast 7 that I can think of here,, but why are they so expensive ??? I believe in giving to charity, but the local one had a book in the other week that I fancied, was £12.00 when I got it home I found out (From the flap inside that the price new was only £11.99..

Fair enough make some money for a good cause, but DONT rip us off,, it was my fault for not looking, but actually paying more for second hand than new made my blood boil

yep, I've found charity shops expensive over the last couple of years too...maybe its just that I am used to the prices in cheap shops but you can often get new clothes for cheaper than the charity shops these days :-(

I volunteer at the Age Concern re use shop at the tip. It is amazing in there, you would not believe the things people would normally throw into the tip.
It is so reasonable too and you can barter, it is encouraged. It would be brilliant if all local councils had one.

They are all a con....I went in to Cancer Research the other day and the door to the back room was ajar. So I thought I would have a peep at the experiments......and they weren't doing any. It was just 2 old ladies drinking tea.

How are they going to find a cure if they spend all day drinking tea.

Having a walk round Loughborough yesterday made me have a recount.
There are now SIXTEEN....................charity shops in Loughborough
British Heart Foundation, Age U.K. & LOROS have two each.

Visit Dunelms in Wisbeach, Huntingdon or Bury St Edmunds (Cambridge parking is too costly) they have a small but fair selection in and not expensive. Think I picked up 4 windows worth for £7 the last time as they had what I wanted on sale.

They have got more and more expensive round here.

I used to volunteer at one but when they took the fuse out of the heating "Oh its broken" and then said you could only have one brew during your shift, then I stopped going.
Not long after I'd left I was told the toilet seat broke and they didn't fix it for 6 months!

They used to throw tons of stuff away and there were some poor management decisions that led to them renting a shop to sell furniture and it was never open.
