  • 45th Wedding Anniversay present ideas.

    Hi,
My mom and dad will of been married for 45 years soon. I am struggling for a present idea.
They have a small back garden which has raised beds and a small rockery area. But it is nearly all full.
They are members of the National Trust so use that to go around various gardens especially when they go away on holiday.
I was wanting something different to the usual bottle of wine.
    Any ideas?

Well- I've had a good think on your behalf!

It does of course depend on how much you want to pay, and if you have any siblings who will muck in with the cost....

    but....

How about making up a picnic basket for them with some espesh yummy food and sending them off for the day- or better still, joining them?

Or- more expensive , book them into a B&B/hotel of their choice for one or two nights during September so they have something to look forward to- or maybe on their actual anniversary??

I do have a sister but lets just say for various reasons I am classed as an only child. So just me buying.
They are away in Illfra, Sorry can't spell the rest and don't want to offend those Grapes who live in Wales, for their anniversary.
But the picnic basket sounds quite a good idea. Or possibly find them somewhere to have a cream tea afternoon. Don't know about joining them. They were both in the army so days out are very organised and planned out.

It is the sapphire wedding anniversary - how about a beautiful blue agapanthus or hydrangea in a pot?
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

I quiet like that idea. Saw a really nice deep blue/purple the other day but didn't think of the that for their anniversary. I did think it would good in my garden though

My mother is totally inept when it comes to technology. Has a mobile but doesn't even have it switched on. In fact when she was at college she managed to crash a room full of computers. Other students weren't bothered as it was on a Friday afternoon and so they got out early.
But its my birthday soon and it actually sounds like a good idea for a present for me. Will have to see if I get asked what I would like or if a bit of hinting might work.

No idea where that is I can only think of Ilfracombe and that's deffo not in Wales
If they like going around gardens, how about membership of the RHS (lots more gardens to visit) or English Heritage (Cadw in Wales) to visit castles and stately homes
Or dedicate a tree for them in a local wood Dedicate A Tree | Woodland Trust Shop

She has mentioned going Wales way but tell you the truth once my mom starts I do switch off. I feel a bit bad saying that but once she starts I don't get a word in edge ways.
