I learnt at school that the lesons that I learnt most from were the ones that the teacher made fun so that is how I treat things here with what bit on knowledge I've got.

I couldn't really day much about the forum as i've made 3000+ posts! I do go on a few other Fori but now where near as mucha s here. It's sort of like a 7 day a week gardening club thats local to us all.

I totally agree Nick, to take away the fun would make the forum a barren place to be and cost it its soul.

So glad to read those posts, No 1 Technie son raised an eyebrow or two when he saw how much posting I'd been doing over the past month!! Made me wonder if I was overdoing it a bit, but I'm having so much fun.
Had to pursuade Bubblewrap to sign on as he was feeling rather neglected by my new obsession. Now we are talking about getting him a laptop so we can both be on at the same time ... Help!!!

Mrs Dobby.... I love the comparison to a lottie! I tend to spend more time talking to myh neighbours than getting on with what I went there for, but then that's what I enjoy about my lottie, and love about this place and the friends I've made here. I just wish I lived closer to them, or travelled with work to pop in and see some of you

But that's what normal conversation is like And what makes the Vine so good On some other forums some whipmaster would be on screaming "you're breaking thr thread" ! And dear knows what the thread was about !

Its the heady mix of information, fun, obtuse posts, ripping into LJ and more information that makes this site so successfull.

As Alice said so well, there is no whipmaster trying to make you post with tunnel vision and screaming that you have broken the thread which is why it works so well, its how humans interact with each other in reallity and why the forum is so popular. If the IT spods wanted to go down that route they would have done months ago but I think they know a successful recipe when they see one.

Trousers registered me on to The Grapevine last July, and come my birthday in October when I received an E-mail to wish me Happy Birthday from The Grapevine, I deleted it because I had absolutely no idea who it was from...!
I'm older and wiser now (can you tell? No you can't, liar....) and I've only been a part of this Vine since about New Year all said and told, and so I totally missed being welcomed by all and sundry, and I'm still bitter and twisted about that, but I'll get over it, I'm sure.

I cannot praise this forum highly enough.

A little bit of everything in the right proportions.
Completely loads of interest going on at the same time.
Simply love the banter and inane humour that flows so naturally between such genuinely friendly people.
Anyway, enough about Trousers and me....

You guys should be very proud, of what effectively, you've achieved yourselves, as it's the very people contributing that make it the success that it is, and we're loving being a part of it....
Thank you.

Welcome to the vine Wellie.
I only joined in December, but can't get off it now.
Looking at the date you joined, I thought you'd been here for ages, so wondered why you didn't welcome me!!! It's good here though, ain't it?
See you around
