Congratulations on yer news, Annie, but one question. Will a baby keep pests of yer veggies like a polytunnel can?

Seriously, all the best to you all, and bring em up to be gardeners!

Congratulations Annie. I will watch this post with interest. All mine are now in their 30s but I can remember the fun they were when little. Just a tip - if it is late on arrival try planting the parsnips it will speed things up. I did and Hey Presto!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful news! So happy for you both! You'll have to get a papoose (is that what they call them?) and get the kid down to the veggie plot. Nothing like starting them early! Do you have a due date yet?

How did your scan go Annie, any idea when you'll be three not two?

Hi all, Scan results are in>>>

One healthy baby 10 weeks old, couldnt see much on the screen but a fast heartbeat but is reasuring. Worked out my 9 months and thought may be due end of July untill my sister in law said it was 40 weeks??

I really could do with avoiding August as it is OUR month. You know the month every one has where there are loads of birthdays, anniversaries, events already not sure could fit a birth in.

We have told close friends and family now and I have never heard my mother speachless before!! When i told her she was going to be a granny she said Who? You?..

Anyway hopefully as near 3 months the cramps and sickness will go soon as i feel truly shocking. Thanks for all the kind thoughts anf wishes will keep you posted.

Great to hear that the scan went well, my Mom was the same when we told her she was to be a granny, she couldnt think of anything to say except, 'I didnt think there was anything else you could do that would shock me, but.......!' Lol!

lovely news Annie, sounds as though the 'sprout' is going to fit in with your family. How long do you think it will take for your mother to get used to the idea?

You'll be able to see a lot more on the next scan so can get "granny" one then if you want.

What wonderful news annie! By the way, August is a busy time for us too - I think your baby ought to make his or her appearance on the 21st! Dexterdog
PS In case you hadn't guessed it's my birthday on the 21st August!

Hey DDL, it's my dad's birthday 21 August too!!!

Annie, I hope your sickness soon passes and you are able to settle in to the idea of family life. I never planned parenthood but I wouldn't change it for the world. Good luck with it all.

Whatever month your baby is born Annie, will be "your month". They bring all their own love with them.

Great news Annie, and sounds like your mum will need some time to recover from the shock! (I think my mum would be like that too!)

You'll definitely need a sling or papoose, that way Mr Annie can carry the baby whilst you go down to the lottie!

Glad the scan went well Annie, hopefully next time you might be able to see more-do you want to know if it's a girl or boy? Lots of luck for a trouble free pregnancy. (ps my OH's birthday is in August too)

Congratulations! You can garden and have kids at the same time - you just have to rearrange priorities!

*Says she who's 3 days off her due date with her fourth child and is absolutely desperate to get out in the garden and clean the greenhouse!!!*

I couldn't go into my greenhouse for months though - the smell of the tomatoes made the morning sickness even worse. Sniffing lemons and ginger helped though.

Great to hear that all is going well. The more morning sickness, the more secure the pregnancy. Keep up the good work and enjoy.
Will check back on progress frequently.
