Sorry DDL I just had a vision of you on your bike with Dexter on the back with his paws on your shoulders! Lol

Out of interest.......In Sorrento I saw a man on a scooter trying to light a cigarrette while he was driving and he had a pig wedged across the scooter in front of his legs!
Nothing to do with the original thread...but there goes.........

Bless! no Dexter doesn't go out on the bike!
BUT - on the way up to the Lakes a few years ago - OH and I were in the car (Dexter in the back!) we went around a roundabout and came behind another estate car. Nothing unusual you would think!
Except there was a SHEEP in the back! Just like a dog! Never forgotten it! DDL

Ooh, DDL - which MG have you got? OH had an MG Midget when we met, soon had to get rid coz of the growing belly Now we have a collection of older cars - I have a MK1 Golf GTi Cabrio, we have a few Rover SD1's, eldest son (created in the midget - honestly) has a 1983 mini convertible and youngest son has a Volvo P1800s awaiting restoration!!

Love MG's though, my dad had one when I was small!!!

OH always goes on about getting a cruiser bike but I won't let him because drivers round here are blind as bats and bikers get the rough end of that one!

Hi Shirley! yes, I was brought up on (old) MGs, Austin Healeys etc etc.
We've also had a few Capris and I've also had an MGBGT which some bloke very kindly wrote off for me - then I got "Henry". "Henry" is a Mark I MG Midget, 1964. The last owner spent £8,000 doing him up - I have all the reciepts and photos to prove it! Unfortunately, I havent used him for the last two summers (for one reason or another!) and so am looking to sell him as it's not fair having him shut away doing nothing. Aw well! if you know anyone who wants him.....................DDL

Why on earth don't you use Henry? (Glad I am not the only one to name cars - my golf is called 'Flossie') - I had Flossie restored two years ago and was a bit precious about driving it in case it got stone chips or whatever. But then I decided if I didn't get out and enjoy the car what was the point in having it?!

Hi Shirley - Henry has had a (slight as we've just found out!) gearbox problem. Now he needs an MOT and with the dark nights, long hours at work etc. it looks like it's going to be next year before he gets MOT'd and on the road, or sold! Never mind - I think he's staying put for the time being. DDL

To go back a few posts, the load ad that Carol Vorderman (is that how you spell it?) does are vary annoying, there was a web based petition asking her not to do them anymore for the reasons already given. It got a phenominal number of names but she didn't take any notice and her PA said something about it being a good product etc etc. So basically, as we all know she's an intelligent woman, she obviously doesn't care - something to think about when she's taking two from the top or whatever she does on Countdown.

well, I guess when you got that much money and celeb status who cares? Those adverts for lending money get my goat even more than the asda ones - they are sucking in people who are struggling already into even more debt! DDL

I like the Smash martians. Don't like smash but loved those ads.

Most hated is a tie between the crazy frog and the Sunny D adverts, and the most recent frosties one.

Default Annoying advert update

Just seen another advert on TV which has really wound me up!
It's the really annoying tune that is now going round and round and round in my head! The slimming one where she sings about her "booty, fruity......." and the rest of the rubbish!
Sorry can't remember the name of the product - some slimming thing or other!
Are there any new adverts that wind you up?
Bernie aka DDL

Plenty that wind me up. Any with that Kerry Catatonic muppet on it, all the Morrison ones, anything with fake made up names (yoghurts with bifidus actiregularis spring to mind), loan companies, insurance companies, any that have been badly dubbed because a lazy marketing department can't be @rsed to organise an English version, Sharon Osbourne and that bingo one, I could go on...

There are quite a few I like at the moment too.

I really hate BARRY SCOTT!! (had to shout, he does ) and the Cillit Bang adverts. I'd rather live in a filthy home than purchase that muck to use in it.
The tooty, fruity Slim Fast one gets muted, as does the VW one which is made up of various clips and sound effects. Probably supposed to be witty/clever but really gets on my t**s.

See now I quite like that advert.

Could quite happily punch Barry Scott on the nose though, even if he is a made up monkey.

Ireally hate the advert where the child shouts to his mother about crusts on or crusts off. I always hit the mute immediatley. These sort of adds irritate immediatley. It will not sell bread.

I hate the current "Rustlers" advert - the one where the woman turns from "just a coffee" to underweared temptress in a microwave-type rotation.

Also the "Mum's gone to Iceland" and KFC "Mum's night off" - do they really think we live in a country where men are incapable of shopping and cooking?
