  • 28 Not Out.

This coming Wednesday (29th Oct.) myself and Mrs snuffer celebrate, if that's the word, our twenty eighth wedding anniversary. When she asked if I would like anything in particular as a gift, I asked for a load of farmyard manure. No,the request for manure wasn't meant as a metaphore for the last twenty eight years. It's just a useful pressie that can be put to excelent work on the lottie. Need to transplant some rhubarb.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.

He and me have long since stopped buying each other pressies (and cards) - it's not that we don't care, far from it - we just felt that we bought just cos it was expected ....however, your request is just top drawer

oh and congrats - do you get a Good Conduct and Long Service Medal

Congratulations dude - and good luck with your manure request. Horse or cow?

LadyWayne and I will celebrate our 4th (although we've been together for 12) on the 6th, and I was looking to see what the various "traditional" gifts are:

Found some of the "modern" ones a bit laughable - this year I'm supposed to buy an appliance as a modern gift - maybe that's why there are so many divorces these days?

And if you really wanted to set the following year off to a bad start...how about some linen tea cloths to go with your chosen appliance!!??

Snuffer,Congrats on making it all the way to 28 years!I'd say enjoy the manure, but tis possibly not quite the right word??I think it's a great idea to buy useful gifts.(but guys NO irons!!)

Congratulations snuffer. MAnure seems a perfectly reasonable request. I asked for compost for xmas last year and he looked at me as though I was barking!!

Me an him are celebrating surviving ten years next year by actually getting married!! He drives me mental at times, but wouldn't be without him.

Congrats on your enduring togetherness! Apparently 28th anniversary is 'orchids' not manure!

                          Congratulations!

Me and Mr R have been together for eight years this year and married for four of those, this anniversary, which is the weekend before Christmas. I think he's absolutely wonderful, and believe it more so every day.

Wow! That's quite an achievement! Congratulations! Nothing wrong with manure as a pressie if you ask me. My best pressies in the past have included a galvanised wheelbarrow and a winter's supply of haylage for my pony. Both were much appreciated (although the haylage wasn't vey tasty to me!).

I asked for compost for my birthday last year. Better than people buying you stuff that ends up at the back of the cupboard. Hope you're doing something romantic too?
