Noooo - 7 miles of country roads with some pretty nasty hills and not much in the way of footpaths.

Using LW's car for the time being.

I'd love to be able to cycle - but with my propensity to sweat quite a bit and the fact I have to dress "smart" for work and there are no shower/wash facilities here....

Thats the best thing about a treadmill, it doesn't matter where they go on it, they never get lost.

Ours can be connected to the internet so you can follow video routes at your pace, if you fancy running down miami beach, amongst a load of hotties you can!!

I did it once - and was paranoid about being whiffy the rest of the day, most uncomfortable. Took me ages to cool down too.

I used to do it a lot, when I was younger (when in college I would frequently travel the 52 miles there and back by bike). Once you have to drop of children on route it kinda puts the kibosh on things. I wouldn't travel on a bike with a child on the road, it just ain't safe.

Tell me about it!D ha s just learnt to ride without stabilisers & I feel such a meanie telling her she can only bike on pavements with a wide grass verge otherwise she has to walk & push her bike~my friends boy's allowed to bike anywhere & is very good but seeing him fall off straight into the road has in my mind justified my decision(thankfully there wereno cars but they come down said street at phenominal(sc) speeds!I'm all for encouraging my kiddies to take risks & learn from their falls but not if it's a fall they mightn't be around to learn from!

Accidents do happen, when I was a teenager near my home I was cycling at around 45MPH (downhill) when my chain slipped and jammed, it caused my bike to through me over the handlebars where I landed on top of the bonnet of an oncoming vehicle. If it had been going a little slower or quicker, I probably wouldn't be here (helmets weren't used then).

Yeah, I'm cool ta. I have a holiday to look forward to, then a new car to buy - and then in a few months a whole new person to welcome to the world!

Life's great!
