  • 1920's help needed

So, if you were going to a 1920's themed New Year's Eve party - what would you wear? Assuming you were a short, curvy (no flapper dresses please!) wrong side of 40 (no, make that 50 + vat) lady.

I'm thinking gansta with an AK47 strapped to my back. He said, erm nope.

Hmmmmmm, Hogmanay party, drink will be flowing like water. If I was you, I'd be wearing several layers. Just in case someone suggests playing strip polka. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3hA...3hAtxZXNrA#t=0

Anything loose and black, with a bit of white lace round the neck, and a headscarf tied round your hair in a turban fashion
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

You definitely need a headband, or banbeau, preferably glittery with an ostrich feather in it too, a trend apparently started by the discovery of King Tut's tomb and all those wall paintings of ancient Egyptian fashions.

A plain black shift dress, combined with a colourful fine fabric wrap or shawl with an oh so long fringe, or a feather boa, and a long beaded or pearl necklace. if you want to break up the dress, tie a bright sash around at hip height.

The only other suggestion is to study the last series of Downton Abbey

                    Endless wonder.

Have a look at some of the Poirot series for ideas. Wear flat shoes and some sort of headgear with a big feather in it. Just go for it girl and don't worry about flapper dresses - get a big elastic bandage!!
I work very hard so please don't expect me to think as well!
