Default I've Got A Lodger - And He's Fair Bonnie

This little guy moved in about a week ago. He's living in and under a tray I use to stand plants in to water. The birds bathe in there too.
Anything else I can do to keep him around and comfortable ?

Aw sweet. I love froggies. Perhaps a grassy plant near the water for him to hide in?

I knew you'd like him Shirl I've been leaving a plant standing there to give him something to hide under.

Lovely to see these little critters. There must be a pond or some sort of water near by,he'll come and go as he pleases.I don't think you need to do anything special,we've ended up with frogs in the garden after youngest son came home with tadpoles from school about 10 years ago,I just dug a big hole and sunk a big wicks bucket in the ground and they have been here ever since. They don't spawn as it is not big enough but they are still here every year.I love seeing them.

Cute Alice! Here's something I didn't know that will help all frogs...from the back of my Ecover washing-up liquid...

"Frogs and surfactants don't mix

Surfactants from cleaning products can wash the protective coating from a frogs skin, so like all our ingredients, we make sure to use surfactants that biodegrade so fast that the two never meet."

Every little helps!

They would if their customers demanded it and there was a profit in it!

Sorry for going off-track Alice.

He's lovely Alice. I'd suggest putting some stones in a pile with a little opening so that he can hide in there. Here's a link to Froglife where you can download advice sheets & also report frog sightings etc.

Make a pile of old logs or bricks or stones in a shady part of the garden. Your frog will be quite comfortable there.

Thanks everybody. I've put some plants and a wee pile of rocks and logs for him to hide in and making sure his water doesn't dry out. I want him to stay.

how lovely, our tadpoles are turning into little froggies and are so cute. I must admit when I read your title it made me think of a male danish au pair we had many years ago who enjoyed cutting the hedge with his top off, aaahh. I think it was the lodger bit.

He's still there folks and he's got a great wee corner to himself now. Water, plants, rocks and logs. He doesn't seem to bother about me at all. I can go and talk to him and he just sits there - well, what's new.

Nicos, I'll put an ad in the local press. That should do it.
