I used to live in Wendover for fourteen years, and know The Shoulder of Mutton.....may i suggest The Chequers at Weston Turville instead?, it's only two miles up the road and is a million times better in my opinion.

Wellie lived opposite The Chequers for fifteen years, and she doesn't have a bad word to say about it.

No Angel, "None Taken, I assure you .....", and the twinkle Trousers has got in his eye, you think that I'm scared?
Heywayne - it would be a pleasure to meet you and Lady H, if we manage to do so.....
Piskie & Snowdrop, the floor would be completely yours, and if we do we do, if we don't, we don't....Trousers himself says he may be doing The Shoulder of Mutton an injustice (not having visited it for at least 10 years).....

I helpfully pointed out that he may also be 'bigging up' The Chequers unnecessarily, and that after 10 years now it could be complete Shite, which would make me look like a prize plonker.

No change there then, he said.
B*st*rd.....

Nice to hear from you Wellie unt Trousers, hope the move's going well (you are moving entcha? - not known for my memory skills see).

I'm happy to go wherever - within reason of course!

Oh, I forgot to say.....
If you do decide on The Chequers in Weston Turville, HeyWayne you'll need to duck Sweetie rather a lot in what we used to call 'The Visa Bar' on your way to 'The Little Boys' Room' as there's a low beamed ceiling..... Sorry Mate! Potential Ouch Alert from Wellie, that's all....

PS. Have a fabulous time you two!

Both the pubs in our village have low ceilings, one of them has a door that's actually level with my chest!

Oil be fine, but that's for the "heads up"
