Default Fuel prices up another 5 pence today

deisel has gone up another 5 pence today where i live at our 3 local fuel stations, it is getting rather stupid now, soon it will be too expensive to look for a job as i was made redundant september as will end up costing more to go to work than i would earn as not to many jobs near me so will have to travel between 10 and 25 miles each way per day.
can anyone please tell me how you run a car on veggy oil or what mix you use and how to put it in or changes to make and rough cost as maybe worth me doing. i have a T reg 1999 ford mondeo deisel?, as it was my parents car before me its only got 25000 miles on it so will be keeping car for a while.

I would suggest you look online and see if there is a Ford Mondeo forum. We found from the Fiat forum that our car would run on 50/50 veg oil/diesel without any hassle. You need to replace the fuel filter more often (annually) as it will block up more rapidly as the oil is thicker and pulls more of the rubbish out of your fuel tank if you let it run low. Another hint is keep your nose working when around other Mondeo diesel's - if you smell a chip shop, ask the driver what modifications they have made

As to putting the oil in, simple, get a funnel and pour it in. However, veg oil is now 95p a litre so not a lot cheaper than diesel. The main satisfaction is knowing that the government isn't pinching all your money in tax.
