A boss of mine many (yeah, ok, too many) years ago told me the only 'stupid' question is the one you don't ask.

You need to be carful with auto defrosting units....these are normally Fridge Freezer.
They have a tendancy to kickin the defrosting if the temp is too low. So in a garage in winter the can defrost them selves. You may be best getting a second hand unit with out defrost.
