Get a cleaner; the best thing I ever did.

I found I enjoyed housework more when someone comes in and does it for me.

Mark does all the ironing, I just have to get it washed and dried; and he does the washing up as well [I do the DIY].

Honestly, my tutor at Uni told me 10 years ago to get a cleaner and I only relented last year; but it is a brilliant.

The only downside is she comes every other thursday at 8:30, so when I am working from home I have to get up earlier than usual and go out - so that she can get on with it without me around. But apart from that, I highly recommend getting one.

I know all the logic about getting a cleaner when you work full time but I really couldn't do it, I'd be one of those people who had to clean before they came even though I hate housework. We go for the trying to keep things basically tidy and always keep the kitchen hygenic. Hoovering gets done as and when, dusting nowhere near as often as it should and ironing pretty much never - it's amazing how much you can get away with not ironing by a bit of stragegic use of the tumble dryer and a smooth down!

I'd be like that as well, cleaning before the cleaner came round! I don't like housework much, we don't have a dishwasher so I hand wash but tend to leave the dishes in the sink overnight & wash-up in the mornings. I hate ironing & buy things which you can wear straight out of the tumbly & try to avoid anything which says 'handwash'!
