Default Will anyone else be online at the stroke of midnight?

With four wee ones asleep upstairs, I won't be hitting the town tonight!

I'm happy to raise a glass with Jools Holland at midnight but if anyone else will be around, that would be fun too

I'm celebrating not just the New Year but also the fact that I've survived a whole entire year since the front room was redecorated with pie, chips and baked beans and my (soon to be) ex walked out the door. In fact I haven't just survived, I've positively prospered!

Shout up if you'll be here and I'll line the drinks up

We are going out but unsure if we will stay out till the new year (all feeling a bit rubbish). Will pop online when we get back in anyway.

Good New Year to all grapes

"lang may yer lum reek, wi' ither fowks' coal"!

......this would translate as "long may your chimney smoke, using coal donated by other people"

If you want to start the party early, don't forget that all the French/Dutch grapes will be starting New Year an hour before you. We've already toasted the New Year with our friends in Oz!
We'll still be here at "your" Midnight but if we don't speak - Have a great one.

Happy New Years to you all. We were going out, party booked, taxi booked, then OH realised he didn't really want to go out in the cold with a load of strangers after all. Relief all round! He's now drinking Jack Daniels + Baileys (that may come back to haunt him), and I'm on the remains of Harvey's Bristol Cream. Raising a glass of it to all you right now! Enjoy, wherever you are, Salut!

Bit later than planned and you've all gone offline!

Well, as Scarey said, down here in the wil;ds we're an hour ahead of you back in dear old Blighty - 6 of us, all Brits were out on chum's terrace, not a sound, not a whisper, no yelling and shouting in the streets of the small town chums live in - so we had a little cheer and things.

The gendarmes round here are cracking down on drunk drivers as they should be so had just one glass of wine all evening but a great time with our friends, lovely meal and great company.

So a belated HAPPY NEW YEAR cos we waited for the UK new year to come round also and got home too tired to log on. And before we left, we arranged our first joint work day of 2008 to take down some trees in our garden and woods!
