Default Apologies for my recent absence from the 'vine!

Hi all!

Just wanted to pop in a quick post to apologise for my lack of visits and posting to the vine as of late!

Have been suffering recently with a few headaches and lots of tension in my neck and shoulders, then realised that the vision in one of my eyes has deteriorated, so got my eyes checked out and although they havent changed in the last 3 years I do have a prescriptive need as I have an astigmatic eye, so need a little help for focussing on anything for more than 5 minutes without causing eyestrain and headaches! So glasses are on order which should mean less headaches and allow me a bit more freedom to surf instead of wanting to sit down and relax as I have been doing recently!

I've also been a lot stressed at work, we're still running on 5/6ths of the staff we should have, and as its the time of year when we have to do the autumn/winter display changes (a total of 150x 5' by 5' bays containing 12500 products to move around and re-profile), than things are a bit tense to say the least! When you then add into the mix we've also got our new computer system being installed over the last 2 weeks and the coming next 2 (including 3 12 hour training days for me to look forwards to this week, and an all nighter shift next monday to install the new system), then time has been at a premium!

We've been harvesting lots of things from the plot, 70 sweetcorn cobs last week, and still havent had to buy any veg since March, but the plot is still very weed ridden, hopefully the weeks hols we have at the end of october will allow us to clear it ready for covering over for the winter!

So, please accept my apologies for not posting, hopefully normal service will resume sometime soon!

Good to have you back- glad things are starting to get sorted.
We've been busy on the plot etc too, and have started to notice how the dark nights are creeping in, which will mean less time on the plot midweek.
My freezer if full, got loads of jars, and wood is chopped, split and stacked....bring on winter!!!!!
Actually, I'm rather enjoying the Autumn- what lovely weather we are having to day here Up North ( or Down South depending on where people live)
Well done for keeping on top of things!

Good to see you back MrsD. I wondered where you were. Glad things are getting a bit easier for you.
The virtual veg competition closes at midnight tonight so you're not too late to enter. Good luck.

No need to apologise Suzanne, looks like you've had your fair share of problems lately. Never mind, as the song goes - the only way is up

I echo what Nicos has said - well done for keeping on top of the plot, it's all I can do to keep on top of mine without all the things you've had to worry about. Don't forget "you" time though

Thanks for the kind welcome back everyone!

Yep, just about keeping on top of things, and have spent the afternoon harvesting and taking photos for the virtual veg show, so just got to resize them and post em and I'll hopefully make the deadline of midnight tonight!

You dont have to appologise at all Mrs D, its just nice that you are well and back on form.

As for Nick, well he keeps venturing over to the darkside but hopefully will get back into guru mode soon. Some gimp even tried to immitate his guru status whilst he has been quiet.

Glad to hear the leeks are growing well Jennie, we had some last week in cheese sauce, absolutely gorgeous! Now I'm really glad we've still got 300+ growing for the winter!

Good to hear from you Mrs D, I was concerned that we had not heard from you for a while.

Good luck with the new system, my OH has just had a new one put in and I have heard every single detail!
