Morning!
We currently have languishing in the garden an old metal cold water tank that came out of our loft a few years ago. It's too big and heavy for us to easily get it to the dump without calling for some help, so was wondering if I can upcycle it. It is currently filled with topsoil from digging out a path so one choice would clearly be a planter... I had also wondered if we could make a pond out of it - presumably it would need to be lined inside. It would be a freestanding pond rather than sunken so not so good for frogs etc, but perhaps a nice place for water loving insects? We could sink it, but I've nowhere to put the topsoil and we also have a small child so would need to be netted over the top and it seems like this would be easier if it were freestanding (the small child aspect also slightly puts me off turning it into a pond, at least for a couple of years). The only other thing I could come up with was to turn it on its side and use it as a log store!
Just wondering if anyone out there has some other thoughts or comments on my ideas....we need to do something with it as it is currently just looking unloved and ugly and is taking up valuable garden space!
