  • Lawn edging advice

    Hi all

I have a gravel drive which butts up to a very wonky and untidy edge to my lawn. They are on the same level. I am looking to tidy it up by straightening the grass and installing some kind of edging between the lawn and gravel stones. It needs to be able to bend as there is quite a corner around the drive.

I have looked up a few, but as it's a fairly large area I am keen not to make a mistake by wasting money on the wrong product. I want something smart and don't mind paying decent money for something of quality. I have seen some nice metallic ones elsewhere, which almost look too solid to bend, but they seem to.

Anyone got something similar, or has any ideas or recommendations. Your advice would be much appreciated. Thank you

Being a cheapskate, I have just used 3mt lengths of Scr3wfix conduit pinned down. Not pretty but does the job & is flexible plus only me sees it:

I bought some edging but not happy with it,its metal but seems a bit flimsy & wide compared to some 'ever edge' edging my dad bought. With his ever edge you can stand on it or kneel on it without it bending & it looks easier to put in because it has spikes, mine just has a flat edge all along the base £36 for 5m though,I think the one I bought & didn't use was about £16 for about 3m length, but I bought two lots so I could've just bought the ever edge,it seems reasonably priced for the quality you know. Also some edging could get damaged by the lawnmower (the type I bought )

Thanks guys. I did a lot of research last night and everedge appears to be the best quality I have found so far. It's to go around my drive and we rent a tiny holiday cottage, so it's important it looks good. It's very expensive though at around £9 per metre. I will pay for it, but want to know it's worth it. Good to hear that your dad's looks good!
