  • Fir trees

My son in law started to cut down a 40 foot fir tree last night and I am left with the branches to sort out. If I were to shred them and use them as mulch/composting, would this make my soil acidic?

I know I'm not Two Sheds but will this help. Use the pine clippings on things like Rhodendrons, Camelias, Heathers, Blue Berries and anything else that likes an acid soil. I have used on Flower beds as a top up mulch with no ill effects. Compost some separately and you will have free ericaceous compost or use it on paths.

All my shredded materials go down on paths.
