  • 25l bottle ideas please

Ok I have had these 2 x 25l water bottles kicking about a while and I thought about turning them into mini plant towers. However, I know grapes have a knack for having great ideas. So I just wanted to know what you would do with them?

    Thanks as always

      Cut top off =
      Deep planters for root veg.
Maybe celery that likes wetter roots (I think!)

      Use top =
plunge into soil, with cap off, as water reservoir, or for feeding down to roots

      Cut side off =
Lay them on their sides and cut a side off to make deep seed trays.
Cut in half sideways and make 2 deepish seed trays/planters............

If they are anything like the ones we use it will be a case of 'saw' the top off. Then drainage holes, paint colour of choice, two largish planters.

I was looking at these towers last night, you could cut a few holes in those & cut the top off & insert this pipe to make a higher tower?

I use a couple of those for making nettle/comfrey tea.

Would they be suitable for using some of your produce in the wine making or brewing business ?

I've never tried it myself, YET - but seriously looking into it.

I'd keep them as water containers! Storing extra rainwater in for that hot dry summer we're going to get.

Use them for transporting water from the sites tap to your plot.

two of them fit snugly in a wheel barrow and are manageable weight wise.

                    50litres of water = 50kilos
