That all looks marvellous. The wall provides good shelter and helps warm the area. Your veg all look well advanced as a result. It reminded me of a Victorian kitchen garden.

One comment, perhaps your sweetcorn is a bit closely spaced?

"My Very First Ever Vegetable Plot"

And you get to have a walled kitchen garden? I'm jealous!

Thankyou to everyone for your kind comments I bought a copy of Grow Your Own Magazine and thought to myself about having ago at doing a vegetable plot,i did this not just for my own benefit but for my partner and her children so their can enjoy fresh vegetables from the garden rather than having to buy the vegetables from a supermarket which i consider to be expensive and which does not give the same quality.I decided that the postion would be a great advantage due to the shelter the vegetables would get and the sun.The postion of the garden is North West and the vegetables are protected from strong winds as well as having full benefit of the sun.I spent 4 weeks on removing grass turf and then worked on the cultivation by having to improve the soil as the soil type is clay so i added bags of compost into the soil. The compost i used was Westland compost.I then mixed loads of Bonemeal into the soil even before i started to sow seeds as i knew this would really benefit and improve the soil even more.I water the vegetable plot in the morning now because if you water in the evening you will get loads of sails and slugs coming on the plot during the night, their love damp conditions.I also now use mulch which is excellent because it provides lots of benefits.mulch is a protective cover placed over the soil, primarily to modify the effects of the local climate it also control weeds by blocking the sunlight, retain water by slowing evaporation. For early seedlings i use a polytunnel and once the plants become stronger i remove the polytunnel.I have not as yet really had any problems from pests attack only when the leaves turn brown now and again from the direct sun.I will need to sort out a few more things Beetroot and the sweetcorn as i need to make more space for better growth

All looks good
I have had a back garden plot for over 30 years.
I used to just do it flat like your plot.
But recently I have tried raised beds.
Wish I had done them 30 years ago, they are so easy.
You don't need big raised beds.
I re-use old pallets and make two planks with stakes nailed on.
You can make raised beds as requied.
Note, once it's in your blood you will never lose it !

Lovely. Brick walled garden, lucky you!

* you'll have less watering to do if you line your clay pots with plastic first (old compost bags are excellent (apols if I'm teaching you to suck eggs)
