First one is Crocosmia Lucifer, don't know the second, now on third glass of red! Had a very stressful week.

Chill gal! My G&T has worn off but I still couldn't swear about the second one.

Well what can I say Grapes, you are defo getting better

1. It is indeed Crocosmia ( or Montbretia) & probably Lucifer ( it's in my neighbours garden I snuck a piccy when she wasn't lucking.

2. Verbena Bonarensis - a self seed in the border

Wahey, I identified a flower!!! Blimey, this place must be having an effect on me!! I have even planted some flowering plants thanks to you Nick - how long do dahlias (some pompon mixed and some unwin mixed) take to go from 3 inch high shoots to having flowers? Or will I have to wait for next year as I was late planting them? Oops, sorry for hijacking the thread!

No probs Shirl. Well it depends on the weather. If it warms up & stops raining you may well get flowers this year upto the first frosts (if we have any)

Thanks for that. They are coming on quite well (I think) and I am quite looking forward to having some flowers in the house that didn't cost a fortune from the supermarket
