Oh what has GYO done to me? Lol

I've just picked so rasps and stood there thinking... that'd be good in a photo, so would that one My fruit picking won't quite be the same now!

I keep going outside & looking at my few remaining toms which didn't get blight & wondering if I'll get enough to photograph before the entries close. I've got some tumblers, Moneymaker & Tomazing which are coming on, but only a few on each plant. Unfortunately I won't be able to send them in as 'bribes' as they're likely to be the only ones I get to make a salad with this year!

I ate my one and only ripe tomato yesterday as it started to split! Apart from three green ones everything else is still just a flower, so it doesn't look as though I'll even get a chance for green tomato chutney!

My toms split as well so no pretty photos there! And I forgot about the beans and ate them all so I'll have to wait for the second crop .... And nothing suitable for a bribe so far either, but I AM looking ..... hehe

Did you all get to see my decapitated beetroot? I was so upset I started a separate thread, instead of showing it on this one. I'd left 3 lovely beetroot in a bowl of water while I went to the shop, and by the time I got back daughter had removed the leaves of one of them and fed them to the guinea pigs. I'm struggling at the moment to find much worth entering, but I'm keeping the camera handy and will enter what I can.

Oy you lot, you've nicked a category! Grrr

I entered my three second best onions in the 'shown as grown' category with the intention of leaving my three biggest to grow a bit and be entered in the 'dressed onions' category!

Unless there's something the matter with my eyes the three dressed onion category seems to have disaappeared!

There's no problem really, just wondered why?

Any chance of a definitive date for last entries for all sections btw, instead of Mid september?

I dont understand that Snadger as I'm sure there was a dressed onions category, but I've checked and checked and I cant see it, and I've checked for any deletetions, but nothing there either. Leave it with me and I'll check with Admin just in case there's a Gremlin in the works.

Re the final submission date: I have suggested a date to GYO and we are just waiting for their confirmation, so hopefully we should be able to post that on Monday.

Is it okay if my hands are showing in the picture of my rose bloom? Madmax kindly took pics yesterday but the best one(s) have either my hands, or the other roses on the bush, in evidence. Went out to take more this morning but weather overnight has spoiled them

A final submission date has now been posted on the Show Board.

This date should allow you all a final weekend of photography and posting before the close of the show.

Good luck to you all

Default felling better now

I've just come across this thread and now I feel much better. I'm a novice to gardening and don't have an allotment, just a garden patch that keeps expanding as I ask my partner to just dig a little bit more lawn up (I hope our landlord doesn't object ) or build a new raised bed.

Anyway I realise my veggies aren't up to a very high standard as yet and I grow to eat rather than show but I thought it'd be a laugh to enter a few piccies, especially as there didn't seem to be many entries.

I was just thinking of deleting them all now that some of you experts have started adding yours but I am reassured it's just for fun so there they'll stay.

As a newcomer it's always hard to get established on a chat board because many of you have history but what I say is if you don't post you'll never become a proper member

Hi SMS6,

You are a proper member, come on and make your self at home! I have only been here over a year but have never been made to feel like a newbie or that any of my many questions were daft.

I look forward to seeing your pics and lots more posts, Mandy
