Mind you, all the indoor ones are planted up in their final positions now and the toms are starting to flower so I should have little fruits shortly.
The first toms we've got ripening are in a hanging basket, cherry toms of the Gartenperle variety, planted on 18/2/07, then planted into the hanging basket in late March. The hanging basket has been hanging in the plastic greenhouse since it was planted up, and we've had the first ripe one (cut in half, about a bite each it was, and very nice too), the second tom should be ready by early next week, and loads more flowers and small fruit! They've been regularly fed with tomorite and watered regularly too, but other than that nothing special, just lucky with the warm April and Mr D planting everything very early too methinks!

Here it is! The herbs sown this year are still very small - barely germinated! - and the rosemary isn't happy in the chantie so I need to transplant it somewhere in the garden.

HBJB - love the salad bar! Did you drill holes in the copper pots to allow for drainage? And did you add gravel et al for drainage - I didnt think that'd allow enough room for compost, obviously I'm wrong yet again haha!!

Heres some photos of my onions in pots (ready for eating?), potatoes in pots, tomatoes in the greenhouse (the one at the front left is the one I snapped the main stem off!), my giant parsnip growing in the table leg, last photo of Dexy after a hard afternoon watching me mess around in the greenhouse - its a hard life you know! wow - my toms are all 6" high.

I drilled holes in the salad-bar pots and added crocks for drainage. Except for the colanders!

Enjoyed looking at your pics DDL. Well done. Do you want to tell us why the parsnip is growing in the table leg - or is that too complicated. Good pic of Dexter.

Hi Alice - its a secret, but I'll tell you. (No not really LOL! ) My boss was getting rid of his desk - Ive got the drawers in my shed to keep things in - and I wondered if it was possible to grow a veg in the legs (that rhymes!). I know you can grow giant veg in guttering/drain pipes, so I got hold of some giant parsnip seeds and thought it might just work - with compost in the leg and just one strong seedling in each. - Its going well so far - shall keep you updated on the progress. Bernie

I pulled up 3 plants of foremost potatoes yesterday and had just enough to feed the 3 of us, will leave them another couple of weeks. Unfortunately we ate them before I had chance to take a piccy. They were gorgeous with butter and mint. Yum!!!

Default Garlic & Peas

Got curious today about my garlic as there didn't seem to be any bulbs forming so I picked a few and this is what I found...what a lovely surprise. The tips of the leaves had started to go yellow so they weren't quite ready, I'm assuming I just let the stalks dry out?

Also a very small helping of peas, my first.

Those garlic are fab, Bex! Bigger than mine, but I think yours have possibly died down a bit more - and those peas look so scrummy - bet they didn't make it to the pan!

My garlic is dying down but I've managed to keep my itchy little fingers off it so far.
My peas are covered in flowers but only one pod so far - and no peas in it yet. That one will never make it to the kitchen.
