    Winter Plug Plants

    I've seen an offer at Mr Fothergills for 150 winter Viola plug plants for £5.

    I'm looking for something like that to add colour to my beds over winter.

    Are winter plug plants worth it? Do they really survive the winter? The violas apparently flower through to next March. Really??!

    Are there any better deals out there?

    I had winter pansies in tubs all winter and they were great, the primulas I got flowered in January

        Mine did not flower over winter, but have been excellent all spring and summer ... I've just collected seed from them

          We had pansy's that flowed all last winter even after getting covered in snow a few times. Most were pulled out a couple of months ago but there is still one flowering!

            I had some in winter hanging basket and thought twice about dumping them as they were still flowering well but it's better to get new ones as they are more vigorous when young.

            I'm definitely getting more this year !
