  • What size should plug plants be to go in?

    Hey folks

I have been growing some plug plants on in the conservatory but not sure how big they should be before i plant them out. Its a mix of evergreen groundcover plants and this is what they look like now

They should be *this* big (holds hand up and spreads fingers). Lol

Sorry no help. Just in a stupid mood. Too much sun probably, just not used to it.

The sun brings all the nutters out
As for your plants, how well rooted are they? I've been planting out tiddly little plug begonias and salvias because I'm tired of watering them. They're still alive

They look just like the ones I got from T&M last autumn which are starting to flower lovely now

They look big enough to go in now - dig a hole, bung 'em in and firm them in well and water Lots of water for the first week or so and they'll soon shoot away....especially in this lovely sunshine

Yes they are a T&M special to cover some bare banks around a raised, wild patch. got my classic perrenial mix through yesterday too. Potted everything on now have got to reclaim the weed ridden places where these plants are going to live

When you plant the ones in the fiber pots once you water them in remove the excess fiber above ground as it may draw the water from the plant roots and evaporate in the air
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
