  • What`s this then?

My neighbour has asked me what this plant is called, I`ve no idea, so, I thought I`d ask you? He tells me that it produces a purple/blue flower.

There are 2 plants commonly called bear's breeches - Acanthus mollis (this one) and a nasty vicious spiny one called Acanthus spinosus. Guess which one I have
Interestingly (well, I think so), Acanthus leaves have been part of architectural design for centuries. I knew them as part of a Corinthian capital before I knew anything about the plant.............but I digress.

One of my favourite plants in my garden. They "split" well too.
