  • ways I could make use of some poppie seeds

In my old house, I had a bigger garden and more health and back then I grew more flowers than vegetables. I had some very nice poppies, that looked a bit like

I collected thousands of seeds from the best plants. This was a few years ago now, so I guess I wonder firstly if the seeds would still be viable, and second how I might put them to good use. There are a couple of ugly patches of ground on the estate, where a small patch of land isn't really anyones responsibility and so it gets left to its own devices and basically just weeds grow on it. I dont think anyone is happy with it but no one wants to do anything with it and take on that responsibility. I was wondering if maybe I could just toss them in one or two of these spaces and maybe they'd grow and make the place look a bit nicer. What do you reckon?

Go for it just don't let anyone see you do it there was a big thing not that long ago about councils clamping down on various people who had altered council land and it isn't worth the hassle but they are lovely poppies and the seed just happens to be there.....

Yes, I would do that. Some won't grow, some will be eaten by birds or slugs, but some may sprout and make it to maturity and give you the reward of lovely flowers, that will then re-seed themselves and may even outgrow some of the weeds. If someone does come along and mow them down, well, they had a chance.

      Endless wonder.

It couldn't possibly make these patches any worse. They've been left entirely for at least eight years. I would image people would be pleased if it worked and the council would just continue to pretend it wasnt there. Perhaps I'll make little balls of seeds and mud from my garden, so they have a better chance.

          Gorilla gardening, excellent

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
