Default Two bunches, then drop

I've had two small pickings of my autumn sown sweet peas and the promise was of great things to come - sadly they are now producing yellow buds that just drop instead of flower

I'm thinking a spell of 'NOT SO MUCH (cold) RAIN THANK YOU' might solve this - any other thoughts?

Oh pisk I have had just 2 flowers off mine I don't seem to have any success with them and they are one of my very favourite flowers. Is there and insect hovering around that is nibbling the buds off do you think?
