  • Trailing Evergreens

Can anybody recommend some good, (preferably fast growing) trailing evergreens?

I need to cover an unsightly metal beam, so they will be in troughs, placed on top of the metal beam - hopeful that the plants will cover their container and trail down to cover the beam too.

    Many thanks.

Ivy is ideal and the varigated typed can be stunningly beautiful, but it is rather slow growing.

The clematis Montana Rubins is a lovely pink with coppery leaves.
          The Montana Alba is white.
          Both are fast growing.

And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
