    Hi LL

not al all, you can either sow in Autumn and overwinter the seedlings in Cold frames or spring sow and they will just be a bit later flowering but as winters seem to be warmer ( or summer later) you could even make another later sowing to extend the season. Most folks sow in autumn for showing but if you only want them for cutting then spring is OK.

I usuallay miss the autumn slot and don't get going until spring - I still haven't sown mine yet. I still get far more than I can cut, just get them a bit later. Good luck with them.
