I have a load in my greenhouse, they've come up nicely, and I'm now wondering whether I should pinch them out, and if so, to how many leaves?

    Wisdom gratefully accepted.

if you let them get to 4 pairs of leaves and then nip the very top out they'll bush nicely. Is you g/house heated? if so move them to a cold frame they'll over winter better than in a heated greenhouse as they'll get drawn and leggy

      Can I hi-jack please?

I have just found that my sweat pea seeds I was savng for sowing in spring are damp. Can I sow them now into greenhouse / cold frame? Or windowsill? Or are they doomed?

      Thanks janeyo

If the seeds are damp, they will start to use up their food source stored in the seed by respiring. ...... and if they use it all up, nothing left for when you really want germination to take place.

You can either try to dry them out (very cool oven with door open, silica gel to draw up moisture) or plant them. Personally, I'd plant them. It's hard to say how much food they've already used, so you might not get the results you hoped for.

        Fingers crossed.
