    Summat's eating me daffs.

    Out the front of our house (see pic) we have a little mounded area where we have planted various bulbs and such. At the moment we have a load of daffs in bloom. Some single headed, some multi.

    Something is munching the blooms as soon as they appear and the whole thing looks a bit shabby as a result.

    Would it be slugs? Or something else?

          I'd say snails Wayne, I think it might be a tad early for caterpillar's.

                I've never seen birds attacking them either, but slugs munched most of my October daffs as they appeared: they chewed right through the flower stems and left them on the ground

                I found the culprits sheltering under a nearby bit of lavender, and salted the lot of them

                        Its the small little sneaky slugs. This is not the first time i have had this experience. They climb up the stems and munch away on the petals.

                            In our garden I have a place called "Slug Hell" - its a securely lidded metal dustbin that is half full of very dry rubble and cigarette butts (sons not mine) THEY ALL GO IN and NONE EVER ESCAPE!! (evil laugh here)

                            Very satisfying!!
