I'd agree.....I've never been able to grow them in my UK garden...got my fingers crossed for here though!

Really? I didn't think it was them, they seem to prefer the nice leaves of my primroses. Got beer traps near it now, hopefully will catch the slug who did it!!

without a doubt.
Delphinium is their favourite starter, bar none !

Urgh! Thanks, I guess it will be slug defences up around my poor plant then! I'll try egg-shells and grit and maybe another beer trap right next to it! Then we'll see how it copes without the bubblewrap protection against them!

Just be careful the bubblewrap don't make them rot. You could try the organic slug pellets, they are really good

Last year I had my marigolds all chewed up-especially flower buds.As for the flowers I don't hesitate to put the pellets down.I found myself smiling sadistically thinking about b*&^^%rds last meal

I know, I just didn't want to use slug pellets, maybe I should though. I don't want the poor plant to be eaten alive! And I'll take the bubblewrap off this weekend Igglepiggle, wouldn't want it rotting! Thanks

I didn't want to use the pellets either,but last year I changed my mind.I'm still not going to put them down anywhere around my vegs,but I will definitely feed them to slugs munching on my flowers.My pleaaaasure

I have bought some nematodes which arrived in the post today. My poor little tulips are being ripped to shreds by the blighters. I've heard nematodes are good and last a lot longer than it says on the packet. I bought them on-line �10 for 40 square meters. Cheaper than my tulips cost.

Anything to kill them is worth it.Give us a shout Martha how are you getting on with the nematodes.

I will Coreopsis. I am going to water it in tomorrow morning. I just wish I'd got it earlier but its hard to find in Garden Centre's and it took a week to arrive.

The growing success slug pellets are the best to use
