  • Senetti - comparable plants?

I am new to gardening and flowers full stop really but today found what I think is one of the nicest looking flowers I have ever seen, a Bicolour Senetti. It was in a 15cm pot and plenty of buds on it for £4.00, bargain as far as I'm concerned.

I've done some research and seems there is a limited colour palet with these flowers.

Are there any other comparable plants with other colours?
WWhat's everyone's experience re cold temperatures? Are light frosts ok?

It's just a trade name for some varieties of a type of flowering pot plant usually known just as Cineraria, but it can be called Florists' Cineraria or Cineraria x hybrida. If you do a goggle image search for those names, you'll see what other colour schemes are available. The botanists have renamed it Pericallis x hybrida so you can try searching for that too. You can grow them from seed, and most well-known seed companies stock them. I don't have any experience with them, but as far as I can tell they like coolness but not frost. They are often grown in cool greenhouses.

I bought some Senetti pot plants last year, left them out all summer where they flowered their heads off, brought them into the cold GH over winter and they died right back. In fact I thought they were dead. Nearly all of them are flowering again now. Such bright, vibrant flowers - love them
