  • Pots and baskets going over - can I revive or just replace?

I always have this problem, my pots etc start looking quite tired mid-late July. I have tried cutting back the petunias since advice suggests they will bounce back, but they haven't! Does anyone have any tips on what to grow and/or how to keep baskets and pots going? There's not anything obvious at the garden centres now that we are into mid July. Any tips appreciated!

Petunias should last until the Autumn
Try feeding them more and water more often too- that should help
Can you pop a couple of other plants in there at the same time???

Have you fed them? If not then do that straight away and it should help.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I've never cut petunias back,I just pinch off the dead flowers, same with marigolds, geraniums pinch out the flower & stem it's on,that prolongs these flowers till autumn. As they produce more flowers. Easy to grow from seed too.

Thanks for the tips. I do find that petunias go very leggy and die off at the top if I just dead head as normal. That's why I thought I'd try cutting back. Will up the feeding and see if they perk up.
