Hi everyone I'm sure there's an expert out there who can help me.I have a poinsettia from last year the first time i've managed to kep one going. The problem is it still has the coloured bracts from last year. I know I should have cut them back but they looked so good.They then sprouted new shoots from underneath and they are going great guns.I now have a beautifully bushy plant lovely deep green leaves underneath cream and pink coloured bracts.Obviously its too late to do the 14 hour light and dark treatment so do I just let it go on doing its own thing perhaps cutting off the bracts when they eventually go over. All suggestions gratefully recieved.

Sorry to jump on your thread wollyanna, but can they be grown from seed or only from cuttings? I have looked for seed previously and not been able to find any.Comment

I think they can be grown from seed,but more usually from cuttings. Thank you Rusty lady for the site will visit shortly.Comment

i have done cutiings but you do them the same AS ANY SOFTWOOD CUTTING
in the summer
also poinsettias chang color naturally with the daylight
dont do cuttings that haver flowers
seeds would grow enormous because poinsettias for christmas are special varieties
i have done cuttings below plastic but this is in spain not uk
do them in 50 50 perlite, peatComment
