  • Planting spring bulbs

Hoping for a dry day tomorrow as I have a number of bulbs to plant, daffodils, tulips and hyacinths all bought at less than half price, (I do prefer the prices that way) I think most will be planted in post as the ground is so wet
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

I picked up loads too....£1 a pack so got to be worth a try.

I'm hoping for a bit of a thaw by the weekend so I can plant direct.
I'm envisioning a swathe of early colour underneath my hawthorn tree.

Nicosia, I usually wait till about Feb. before planting bulbs for two good reasons, it is usually heavy rain here during winter so it may save them rotting, and possibly the more important reason, if you wait till about Christmas time you get them cheaper OH and a third reason you can give them as a Christmas present

This has just reminded me I've got a few still waiting to be planted. Must try and do it this weekend
By the way. The daffodils are in full bloom at the end of the road to the village
