  • Plant identification please...

Hi does anyone know the name of this shrub? It flowers early spring, took this photo today. It's nectar rich for bees if anyone's interested? (There's a solitary bee that lives near it,I see it every day, even when its a grey day. I'v found a couple of tiny nests within 2 ft & in the centre of it,over the years. In warmer weather, its normal to see about 6 bees at a time on it,maybe more. I think a solitary bee lays eggs & its the babies I see, because they're smaller bees, they come out & feed on it when its a bit warmer, then feed off everything else, then fly away). Thanks for your help

Flowering Currant (Ribes)? Would have expected the flowers to be darker though, but leaf looks right

Yes I think you're right & there's one called Ribes Sanguineum 'pokeys pink' that's the same colour thanks for your help,I've been wondering what it is for years. It does have a cat like aroma & berries later on.

It does look pretty but I'm not sure how my two dogs would feel about a plant that smells like a cat
