    I bought two peony plants two years ago, last year and this year i have plenty of leaf growth but no signs of any buds. Is there any advice please

    How small were/are they?

    I don't know much about them to be honest but I recall my father saying that they take about 3 years to bloom and after that about one new flower every year...and they can live as long as a human.

    No idea exactly how accurate that is ...but it was one of his 'rule of thumb' sayings if you know what I mean?
    Oh..and also, they hate being transplanted, and that knocks them right back a few years.

      Nicos is quite right. They don't like being moved and will sulk for several years once established they will give you a profusion of flowers. May be you will be lucky next year.

        I agree - i have planted three peonies two years ago and got a single flower on two of them this year.

        As make sure they are not planted too deep - off the top of my head i think the crown should only be around 5cm below the surface!
